10 Creative Must-Try Photography Ideas
Over the last few weeks a joint venture with a friend has shown me my love for Photography, this is a new concept for me. While I learn and grow, I will share my story along the way. Lately, My mind has been running wild with all of the creative possibilities. I will wake up out of a dead sleep with a brilliant idea for a shoot, sweating of eagerness to recreate my ideas. I don't want to this to be just a normal everyday family photography Journey, I want to fill your world with magical memories that you will remember & look at for the rest of your life.
I thought that I'd just write them here for now for safe keeping & quick access. I also wanted to share them all with you as well because some of these you could probably try to accomplish at home. (With a huge help from pinterest of course!)
So here we go! My Ten Must-Try Photos for expressing your creativity!
1) Levitation Photography - usually made up of two photos, this is a complicated & interesting idea. I have seen many awesome photos of people floating with balloons, flying on broomsticks & I just can't wait to see what I can make happen with this amazing technique.
2) Raining confetti - Usually shot with a fast shutter speed, this is bound to make the cutest photo for birthdays or even senior photos! And let's be honest, I just really want to dump a big bucket of confetti on top of you.
3) Blowing sparkles & bubbles - I really should find a cheap bubble machine for this one.
4) Paint splatter Engagement photos - These are always so much fun to look at. Clients are usually dressed in white & ready to get messy. This fun photoshoot can also be done with Colored Powder (DIY on how to make your own colored powder coming soon!)
5) Children & chalk art - Pick a safe place on your driveway or street & draw a picture. It could be a rainbow, stars, writing. . .whatever you like. Then, get your child to sit in the photo, or lay on the ground. Pose & shoot!
6) Lavender field maternity shoot - I need to find a local lavender field. For this senario I picture a beautiful huge field of lavender & a gorgeous flowy lilac maternity dress. Slight wind would make this the ultimate breathtaking photo!
7) Sparklers! - On pinterest I found an amazing DIY post on how to write with sparklers. AWESOME. I've been thinking about how I could possibly work this into a fairy or wizard childrens shoot. You can find the DIY "how to write with sparklers" tutorial here (Post Written by Carly from "The College Prepster").
8) Trash the dress - I'm sure you all have heard about the "Trash the dress" trend that has been pretty popular lately. After the wedding, Brides go and trash the dress (lots of times in water, so it can be easily dry cleaned) this usually captures some pretty funny & cute after-the-big-day-photos.
9) Bokeh - I have seen so many great DIY's on how to make light change shape & blur light into a bokeh background. These photos spark my interest because they are always so pretty to look at and creating my own soft bokeh backgrounds would open up a world of doors on the editing side of things. Bokeh's often look something like this:
10) Smoke art - This is more of an editing technique in photoshop rather than a shoot still just as inspiring. Smoke trails are a huge favourite among still-life photographers. You can take it to the next level by using the shapes in a creative Photoshop project. When you’ve taken a few good smoke art photos, make a blank document in Photoshop, then copy and paste one of the smoke images into it. Set the blending mode to Screen and use Warp Transform to reshape it. Continue the process to combine a range of smoke shots into a new image. I will definitely look at doing a in depth tutorial on this.
I still have so many more ideas packed into my brain but those will have to be saved for later & shared in my photos! Have you tried any of these? Comment below with your personal favorite photo creations!
